My name is Emmanuel Semmes. I’m a retired research pharmacist who lives in Chicago. I have a passion for sketching that developed while employed and traveling on vacation. When I noticed my sketches had a more memorable effect than a photograph, I decided to ditch my camera and carry a sketchbook or digital tablet.
My main medium is pen and ink, but I occasionally drift into pencil, watercolor, and digital. I’ve also used the Zentangle Method, and Notan. I will occasionally feature the art of fellow artists on this website.
